This week February 7th-14th is Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week...but I bet you already knew that! I am so Thankful for all of the wonderful CHD organizations and all the ways that they help out Heart Families and their Heart Children. I am very Thankful that I am a member of Mended Little Hearts of Charlottesville, it is such a wonderful group of families and I am Thankful to know every one of them. I have taken over as Co-coordinator for MLH of Charlottesville and I am so excited and Thankful that Christina thought of me, because Of Course I would want to do it!
I am Thankful for the Amazing team of Pediatric Cardiologists at UVA Children's hospital they save the lives of CHD babies and children every day.
And I want to Thank all of the people who are helping to raise CHD Awareness this week by blogging, twittering and updating their facebook statuses with information about Congenital Heart Defects. I am seeing not just parents of Heart Children, but friends and strangers alike, all working to tell the world that Congenital Heart Defects are the Number 1 birth defect, that 1 in 100 babies are born with a CHD and that CHDs are the number 1 reason for birth defect related deaths in newborns and infants. Thank You!
As always, I am Thankful for my happy, healthy, wild little beasties that run around my house all day long driving me crazy, I am Thankful that my husband has a job, we have a roof over our heads and for our wonderfully supportive group of friends and family and all the ways they help us.
Here is how Thankful Thursdays works:
1. Post your Thankful Thoughts on your blog. Somewhere in your post please mention Welcome to the Nut House and http://ourhappynuthouse.blogspot.com/ so that your friends, family and visitors know where to find other Thankful Thoughts. You can also grab my Thankful Thursdays banner and link to that. Once you have done that you can come back here and add your post to MckLinky.
Not every one has a blog, so:
2. If you don't have a blog, you can leave a Thankful Thoughts comment in the comment section.
3. You can show your Thankful Thoughts any way you like, as a list, as a story, as one word, one sentence or just a picture.
