Mended Little Hearts got a tour of the C'ville airport and the news was there to cover it! Very cool :)

Yesterday Mended Little Hearts of Charlottesville got a tour of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport. We got a tour of the behind the scenes activity. They took us behind the check in desk and we got to see where the luggage goes. Then they took us out back and the kids got to watch the airplanes take off and land. The let the kids climb up into the HUGE fire trucks and taught them about the differences between a typical fire truck and the ones needed for the airport with the extra hoses for chemicals and fuels. The kids got to try on the firemen's gear too, like the helmets, boots, jackets and the cool air tank backpacks.

A local TV station was there to cover the whole thing. This is great exposure for our young MLH group, which was formed just this past spring. Let me know if you recognize anyone.

I have been having trouble trying to embed this video into the post, not sure what is wrong. If it doesn't show up for you, here is the link to the video.

It looks like this video is no longer available on the news station website, be we do have it on youtube and I was able to grab it from there. I hope it works now.
